Analysis of the ship traffic of the world's seas with a PostgreSQL and PostGIS based system.
Together with our French partner we analyse the ship traffic of the world’s seas. From the analysis of the traffic, conclusions can be drawn about the shipping volume of certain important commodities. For commodities that are mainly transported by sea, this data correlates particularly well with movements of the world markets.
The heart of the system is a PostgreSQL and PostGIS database server that can be called large, and whose highly available architecture ensures that the base data is received, processed and published. A WordPress and HighCharts based display system is built on it, which shows the results of the analyses.
