About us

The owners of ViaMap Ltd. have long experience in developing national and local GIS systems, which lets us keep user needs in focus and build systems that fit them.

Besides GIS development, our main services are the design of hardware, software and database systems, consulting, training and data processing.

Since the company was registered in March 2009, it has become a significant development and support knowledge centre. Our clients include municipalities, multinational and Hungarian companies, non-profit organisations and educational institutions.

Our values

• Thanks to our solution oriented, iterative approach to projects, the development process can be followed from the first steps to full delivery, and the products made in each iteration can be tested on their own or even put into production.
• The time spent on a detailed survey of user needs pays back many times during development. For the survey, a necessary level of user training is also essential, since not everyone has to be a mapping expert. In return we ask our clients to listen to our advice and to understand the possible limits in designing the systems.
• Users of our systems do not need to understand GIS. By concentrating on the task, higher productivity can be reached. Systems should adapt to the user.
• It is worth starting small and continuously adapting and developing the systems to the needs that keep arising. Small, smart systems are better than big, dumb ones, and users accept them far more easily than having to cope with a lot of functions at once.
